In the past, Warren E. Buffett, chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., said he avoided technology stocks because he didn't understand them. No more. Mr. Buffett, the Omaha billionaire, has invested in a computer services company, buying a 5.3 percent position in Bell Industries. Mr. Buffett said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that he held 506,700 Bell shares as of Dec. 1. At Friday's closing price of $6.25, the stake is worth $3.2 million.
