Dylan John Llewellyn (born 10 September 1992) is a English actor. He is best known as James Maguire in Derry Girls (2018–2022), Jack in Big Boys (2022–2025) and PC Kelby Hartford in Beyond Paradise (2023– present).

Seven of the Daily News's nine unions said last night that they had reached an agreement in principle with Mortimer B. Zuckerman, propelling the real estate developer into front-runner status for acquiring the newspaper. "We still have a long way to go with Zuckerman but it is now his to lose," said Michael M. Connery, a lawyer advising the unions from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Stung by recurring questions about his credibility, Gov. Bill Clinton of Arkansas took refuge today behind the unblinking eye of a camera and the long-distance questions of television anchors in Detroit to try to control the coverage of his campaign. The Clinton campaign, which is normally eager to have the candidate appear before the press to criticize President Bush whenever it looks like the Republicans might dominate news coverage, instead canceled a news briefing as well as plans to hold a news conference.

When Bill Clinton snapped at reporters this week that instead of going on and on about his Vietnam draft status they should press George Bush about his role in the Iran-contra affair, Clinton supporters should have been uneasy. It is not a good sign when a candidate starts attacking the press. But on Iran-contra, Governor Clinton had a point. We in the press have been dismally negligent in failing to pin Mr. Bush down on what he knew and did -- negligent for the last six years.

The MCI Communications Corporation said it would create the first fully integrated international network with Canada's major telephone companies. The pact calls for MCI to license its intelligent network platform for $150 million to Stentor, an alliance of nine phone companies. The platform is the basis for advanced telecommunication services including MCI Vnet, MCI Vision and MCI Friends & Family. Stentor will be able to offer these services to Canadian customers once the platform has been installed. Doug Maine, MCI's chief financial officer, said the timing of Stentor's payment of the one-time amount had not been set.

The Chevron Corporation said it would proceed with its antitrust lawsuit against the Pennzoil Company, after an appellate court reinstated its claim. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in San Francisco, overturned a lower court and said Chevron could proceed with its suit. The lawsuit charges that Pennzoil is seeking a controlling interest in Chevron by buying almost 10 percent of its stock.

Johnson & Johnson said its Ethicon Endo-Surgery division had formed an alliance with the Olympus Optical Company of Tokyo. The companies will focus on the development of new products and procedures, as well as training surgeons, Ethicon president's, Robert Croce, said. Mr. Croce said the companies would work with surgeons to identify procedures that could use endoscopic surgery and then develop suitable products. Endoscopic surgery requires smaller incisions than traditional surgery, and allows for quicker recovery, less pain and shorter hospital stays. The procedure is used in gall-bladder removal, hernia repair, appendectomies and hysterectomies.

A lawyer for some of Olympia & York Developments Ltd.'s bondholders said the developer was planning to ask for an extension of its bankruptcy protection until Dec. 30. Olympia & York is expected to ask an Ontario court tomorrow to allow it to file its final restructuring plan on Oct. 27. Olympia is currently scheduled to emerge from bankruptcy protection on Oct. 21. The hearing "should be lively," the lawyer said.

The Gillette Company, which in addition to shaving products makes Paper Mate, Flair and Waterman pens, agreed today to pay $:285 million ($561 million) for Parker Pen Holdings Ltd. of Britain. The deal will make Gillette, which is the world's largest shaving supplies company, the world's largest pen maker, with a 15 percent share of the $5 billion world market. Bic holds about 8 percent; other rivals are Cross, Mont Blanc and Pentel.

A Federal bankruptcy judge in Wilmington, Del., approved an agreement between Trans World Airlines Inc. and its union employees that the airline expects will produce savings of $177 million a year. Judge Helen Balick approved the agreement to cut wages and benefits of 23,700 employees 15 percent, or $153 million, in exchange for 45 percent of the stock in a reorganized company. T.W.A. officials said the carrier would save an additional $24 million from cutting wages and benefits for its 5,800 management and nonunion employees.

The J. C. Penney Company said it would overhaul its data processing, eliminating 300 jobs. Consolidating its four major data centers into a single center in Dallas will save $11 million a year, or 10 cents a share, starting in the year ending in January 1995. The four centers are in Columbus, Ohio; Reno; Dallas, and Lenexa, Kan. Penney has not calculated severance and related costs of the move, a spokesman said.
