Integrated Systems Inc., a developer of security software, said late on Thursday that it had bought the closely held Software Development Systems for $40 million in stock and cash. Integrated Systems said it would merge Software Development Systems, a Chicago-based maker of software-debugging products, with its Diab Data subsidiary. The combined company will operate independently as Diab-Software Development Systems and have more than $20 million in annual revenue.
