Manhattan (NYC) Dist Atty's office discloses on June 26 that it has pulled from its raft of tax assessment reduction applications files of number of commercial landlords that have aroused its curiosity; Asst Dist Atty D Worgan says applications that attracted attention are those that sought cuts of $100,000 or more and 'follow other guidelines'; Dist Atty's inquiry follows charges made in Feb by NYS Comm of Investigation that city's Tax Comm had improperly reduced real estate tax assessments by millions of dollars; suit brought by 4 landlords--William Kaufman Associates, Cohen Bros Realty and Construction Co, Ninety-Five Wall St Co and Astorill Associates--has moved into Appellate Div as landlords fight to prevent city from making their applications available to press and public scrutiny; landlord's legal battle began when NY Times reporter sought to examine tax assessment reduction applications on file at Real Property Assessment Dept; landlords lost in State Sup Ct and all applications filed after June 20 are open to public view; previous applications are not available unless landlords' appeal is turned down

Right to Photograph Migrants In Jersey Sought by Newsman; Names of Arrested Given

Civil rights attys, confronted with challenge by NJ farmers to right of newsmen to photograph migrant labor camps, announce on June 27 plans to take legal steps to clarify issue; 30 NJ farmers attend hearing in municipal courtroom in Mullica Hill (NJ), in which farmer S A Sorbello has charged 4 visitors with trespassing on his farm on May 15 and taking pictures of him and camp he maintained for Puerto Rican migrant workers; arrested on trespassing charges are D Jones, R Narvaez, S M Freedman and R Durell; Legal Services Agency atty A J Rom says he will seek temporary restraining order barring state from advising farmers that they may use trespass law to prohibit access to farmers' camps; says he will file class action suit against Sorbello and NJ police for malicious prosecution and for confiscation of property without due process of law; claims he will seek damages for 4 defendants; Sorbello contends that '71 NJ Sup Ct ruling did not specify that newsmen visiting camp might take pictures; contends that strangers entering upon his property to take pictures violate his privacy; Rom retorts that photography is essential part of newspaper and was implicitly included when Sup Ct gave newsmen access to migrant camps
